The ethylene deoxidation catalyst independently developed by Southwest Chemical Research and Design Institute was successfully launched at Maoming Petrochemical's 32,000 m3/h dry gas concentration ethylene plant. After 30 days of continuous operation, the deoxygenation index of the plant met the technical requirements. The catalytic cracking gas is rich in hydrogen, olefins, alkanes and a small amount of oxygen and other complex components. To recover the ethylene resources in the dry gas of the refinery, it is necessary to integrate adsorption and separation methods with chemical purification, catalytic reactions, and other purification and purification technologies. Among them, catalytic deoxidation is a key link in the dry gas enriched ethylene process. However, ethylene is chemically active and prone to the side reaction of ethylene hydrogenation to ethane and ethylene cracking carbon deposition. The Southwest Hospital organized an expert research to carry out special pretreatment of the catalyst carrier to improve the dispersion of the active component in the carrier and improve its stability. They also improved the active components and solved two major technical problems: the hydrogenation of ethylene to ethane and the carbon surface of the catalyst caused by the cracking of ethylene. A dedicated deoxygenation catalyst for the recovery and utilization of ethylene-rich gas was successfully developed to reduce the amount of oxygen remaining after deoxygenation. 1×10-6, deoxidation effect is good, and stable.
It is reported that following the successful application in Maoming Petrochemical Industry, the Southwestern Hospital completed the delivery of ethylene deoxidation catalysts for Yanshan Petrochemical's ethylene recovery unit for dry gas recovery. At present, foreign companies have also come to the southwest hospital for technical exchanges, hoping to export ethylene deoxygenation catalysts.
Ethylene is an important basic petrochemical raw material, mainly from light oil cracking. The catalytic cracking dry gas contains 10% to 15% of ethylene, which has high recycling value. However, in the past, most of the catalytic cracked dry gas was used for combustion, which not only polluted the environment but also caused waste of resources. Relevant experts estimate that the recovery of ethylene from China's existing catalytic cracked dry gas can save more than 4 million tons of light oil each year.
