Yuchai has had exchanges and cooperation with the General Research Institute of Machinery Science for many years. During the "12th Five-Year Plan" period, the two parties signed a strategic cooperation agreement on October 24, 2014 to jointly build a state-level key laboratory of advanced forming technology and equipment Yuchai rapid manufacturing base. Yuchai Co., Ltd. relied on the construction of a rapid manufacturing base and took advantage of the talents and technology of the General Research Institute of Machinery Science to deepen the cooperation and exchange on new technologies, new processes and new methods in equipment manufacturing, and to enhance Yuchai’s digital forming technology. The advantages of advanced forming technology and advanced forming equipment have expanded the industrialization of Yuchai's rapid manufacturing and improved the competitiveness of Yuchai. At present, Yuchai and the General Research Institute of Machinery Science and Technology have cooperated in the development of alloy casting technology, key technologies and equipment for large-scale digital die casting precision forming, and achieved fruitful results.
In July of this year, the “Digital and Large Engine Block Digitized Foundry Workshop†jointly declared by both parties has been approved by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People's Republic of China and has become one of the national “2015 Smart Manufacturing Special Projectsâ€. At present, the project has already started.
