General principles for process equipment selection and calculation

(1) The equipment selected must be adapted to the physical, chemical and process conditions of the ore (or pulp); the requirements for production capacity and product quality must be met.
(2) The selected equipment must be a national stereotyped product with reliable performance, convenient operation, simple maintenance, low production cost, easy to solve spare parts, or new equipment that can be promoted and used after being identified and confirmed. If domestic equipment cannot meet the requirements, it may apply for the introduction of foreign equipment or technology.
(3) Try to select large-scale equipment that is suitable for the scale of the plant, reduce the number of equipment and the number of series, to reduce infrastructure investment and production costs, and facilitate automatic control and management. The main plant of the mineral processing should not be larger than 6 grinding series.
(4) The same type and specification of equipment should be selected for the same operation. The number of equipment should be compatible with the set number of series to facilitate equipment configuration, production operation and maintenance.
(5) When the equipment is arranged in series (without buffering facilities in the middle), the production capacity of the lower equipment should not be in the upper section.
(6) Since the inspection time of the equipment has been taken into consideration when determining the operating rate of the main equipment, the whole machine is generally not considered in the equipment selection; however, for the equipment with a short wearing period of the wearing parts, the whole system is guaranteed to be normal. The production considers appropriate reserve factors, such as 20% to 50% for hydrocyclones, 20% to 25% for filters, and 50% to 100% for slurry pumps.
(7) When there are multiple options for equipment selection, it should be determined through technical and economic comparison.
(8) The production capacity of the equipment is generally calculated according to the formula (including theoretical formula, empirical formula and theoretical plus empirical formula) or selected according to the equipment sample data (the ore properties must be corrected). When conditions permit, it should be determined or checked according to the actual production data of the ore processing plant with similar properties and process conditions, and there is room for appropriate.
