Honeywell Provides Propylene Key Technology for Sanjin Petrochemical
On December 9, UOP (hereinafter referred to as UOP), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Honeywell Specialty Materials Strategic Group, announced that it will provide key technology for propylene production for Shaoxing Sanjin Petrochemical Company (hereinafter referred to as Sanjin Petrochemical). This is the sixth time this technology has won the favor and choice of petrochemical producers.
It is understood that the propane dehydrogenation technology provided by UOP for Sanjin Petrochemical has the characteristics of low operating and capital costs, high propylene stability, and high operational flexibility. In addition to technical licensing, UOP is also responsible for providing engineering design, catalysts, adsorbents, equipment, staff training, and technical services for Sanjin Petrochemical Project. The project can produce 450,000 tons of propylene per year, and it plans to start production in 2013.
It is understood that since the technology was commercialized in 1990, UOP has successfully applied it to 9 devices, and the 10th device is scheduled to be put into production in Russia in 2012.
