· Auto companies counterattack IT giants to call auto companies to build independent data platforms

Volkswagen Group and Mercedes-Benz called on automakers to build an independent data platform to prevent customers from leaking sensitive information to Google. Both Google and Apple see the in-vehicle system as a great business opportunity, launching the Google Android car system and the Apple Carplay car system. The car companies realized that IT giants want to occupy the trend in the field of in-vehicle systems and began to fight back.
Volkswagen CEO Martin Wendern said: "Although we need to use Google's data system, we still want to be the owner of the car." In order to meet customers' requirements for seamless network connection, car manufacturers not only add in the car. Mercedes-Benz and Volkswagen say they have their own car data storage system, avoiding reliance on third-party systems, and this has enabled them to improve their position in cooperation with Google.
