The pre-treatment process step will use SBI's proprietary auto-hydrolysis (steam explosion) process, which uses only heat and steam for pretreatment to partially hydrolyze the lignocellulosic material. In this process, the use of an external chemical catalyst is not required, and the water contained in the raw material can be effectively utilized without requiring a large amount of external water.
