Wuhan plans to build renewable resources exchange
At present, the market for waste collection and distribution in Wuhan is generally not large, and the scale of recycling companies is small. There are only 24 companies with transaction amounts exceeding 10 million yuan. According to statistics, solid waste in Wuhan exceeded 10 million tons last year, and the total volume of plastics and other waste products totaled more than 5.3 million tons. The total annual recycling volume exceeded 20 billion yuan. At present, more than half of the recycling ratios are still quite different from those in developed countries.
Wuhan has formulated a plan for the construction of a recycling system for renewable resources. Through the construction of platforms such as logistics, information services, and online trading, the entire industry chain of “recycling sites, sorting and transit stations, distribution and trading markets, and industrial parks†has been established. It is reported that within five years, Wuhan plans to invest 1.14 billion yuan to build 11 key renewable resource recovery projects.
