Wuhan's first solar drying line opened

The first intelligent drying line of solar energy products in Hubei Province was officially started in Aixi Village, Fawu Town, Jiangxia District. The production line was designed by the Wuhan Architectural Design Institute. The Wuhan Xinnonghu Agricultural Science and Technology Development Co., Ltd. raised more than RMB 1 million for the construction. The production line is expected to be put into production one month later, with dry lotus leaf as the main product, which can process 8 tons of fresh lotus leaves on an annual basis, with an annual production value of nearly 10 million yuan.
The production line mainly adopts low-temperature ventilation drying technology, uses solar energy to heat the air to 60 to 80 degrees Celsius, and is equipped with heat pump dehumidification drying, electric heating and other equipment to assist, “it is the first time in the provinceâ€.
Through solar drying, more than 40% of the cost is saved compared to conventional electric heating, coal heating, etc., and the dried agricultural products can maintain the “original colorâ€. Take lotus leaf as an example, only 10 kWh of electricity is needed per ton of dried lotus leaves, which is less than one-sixth that of traditional methods.
Wang Youxi, chairman of Xinnonghu Company, said that the dry lotus leaf market has broad prospects. In Guangdong alone, the annual demand will exceed 20,000 tons. The output of Jiangxia Lotus Leaf exceeds 100,000 tons. The vast majority of the previous waste was abandoned due to the thunderstorm season during harvesting. The lotus leaf drying effect was poor and it was difficult to become a qualified commodity.
