On January 2, 2019, Cummins Inc. announced that Baiyuan has been the general manager of Anhui Cummins Power Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Anhui Cummins) to manage the business and operations of the joint venture.

Anhui Cummins was formally established in December 2018. It is a joint venture between Cummins and Anhui Jianghuai Automobile Group Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Jianghuai Automobile). The company's production base is located in Hefei, Anhui Province. It mainly produces high-efficiency light and medium-sized engines that meet the needs of the automotive market and users, including the current National Five and future National Six products.

Baiyuan will be mainly responsible for the business development, operation management and financial performance of the joint venture, including driving the operation of the joint venture company and deepening the partnership and cooperation; promoting the continuous development of the joint venture company's products, technology, manufacturing and quality management. Optimize; build efficient and capable teams and build a good work environment.

Bai Yuan joined Cummins in 2005 as a functional business development manager at China Headquarters. In 2007, he served as director of channel strategy for the China Engine Division. Subsequently, Baiyuan served as the purchasing director of Dongfeng Cummins. In 2009, he served as the deputy general manager of Dongfeng Cummins, responsible for sales, marketing, after-sales and application engineering. From 2014 to 2018, Baiyuan returned to Beijing to serve as the director of the Dongfeng Motor Partnership, deepening the partnership between Cummins and Dongfeng through strategic planning, and leading cross-sectoral and cross-functional projects to achieve strategic goals. Since June 2018, Baiyuan has been responsible for the Cummins-Jianghuai joint venture project and is responsible for the integration of the new joint venture company.

Bai Yuan holds a bachelor's degree in diplomatic English from the China Foreign Affairs University and a doctorate in political science from the University of Chicago.
