Honeywell invests in new nylon production line

Honeywell announced on April 30 that it will expand its manufacturing facility in Chesterfield, Virginia, USA to meet the high demand for high-specification nylon polymers in packaging films and other applications.

The new production line will be used to produce nylon 6 and nylon 6/66 polymers, and can flexibly adjust the production ratio according to customer needs. The production line is expected to be put into production in the fourth quarter of 2015, with an annual production capacity of 40,000 tons. After the expansion, the total production capacity of the Chesterfield production base will reach 200,000 tons.

“We will continue to invest in, increase production capacity, and meet the growing needs of customers around the world. The new production line will produce nylon 6 and nylon 6/66 polymer according to customer's actual needs.” Vice President Honeywell and Resins and Chemicals Qamar Bhatia, general manager, said: "As a supplier of upstream and downstream fully integrated nylon 6, Honeywell resins and chemicals provide customers around the world with competitive and stable supply of nylon 6 solutions. ”
