Concept of yield and calculation method

In the beneficiation process, the percentage of the weight of a product obtained and the weight of the ore is referred to as the yield of the product. The yield is usually expressed in the Greek letter γ (read gamma). For example, a gold processing plant processes 500 tons of raw ore every day and night, and obtains 30 tons of qualified concentrate. The concentrate yield is:


In the production process of the concentrator, in addition to the raw ore, the ore weight can be known by the belt scale (or other measuring instruments), and the calculation of the concentrate is difficult. In the production of the ore dressing, the raw ore grade (α), the concentrate grade (β) and the tailing grade (θ) are generally sampled and tested. The data is used to calculate the yield. The calculation formula is as follows:

For example, a gold ore beneficiation plant has obtained a test of α = 5.23 g / ton, β = 85.0 g / ton, θ = 0.21 g / ton, then the gold concentrate yield is:
