Bauxite

Bauxite is not a single mineral, but a mixture of many very fine gibbsite Al (OH) 3, a boehmite AlO (_OH), plus some of the silica and the like.

[Chemical composition] Al(OH) 3 , AlO(OH), and the like. It is a hydroxide mineral.

[Forms] Soil, bean, and scorpion.

[Physical properties] Physical properties vary greatly due to unfixed components. Grayish white to brownish red, earthy luster. Hardness 2 to 5. The relative density is 2 to 4.

[genesis and occurrence] deposition causes.

[Identification characteristics] On the fresh side, there is a soil smell after using the mouth.

[Main use] is the main ore mineral of aluminum. It can also be used to make refractory materials and high alumina cement.
